Transforming Lives Through Community Development
KIDSS is an official Social Development Organization of the Diocese of Kuzhithurai called Kuzhithurai Integral Development Social Services (KIDSS). Since our inception in 2002, we have been committed to restoring human dignity and rights of the poor and marginalized.

Our Mission
To restore the lost human dignity and human rights of the poor and the marginalized through a participatory process; so that they bring about basic changes in Socio-Economic, Political and Cultural realms including Internal & External and Personal & Societal spheres of Human Kind

We work through specialized units targeting specific communities and their unique needs, ensuring focused and effective development interventions.

BFDP
Banana Farmers Development Programme
Made an effort to organize marginalized banana farmers into Sangam. Farmers are promoted towards organic farming and provided trainings, awareness seminars and exposure visits. New initiatives include Students Agri club in 20 schools.

CHDP
Community Health Development Programme
Started with objectives to educate on preventive health care, health education and awareness program in hygiene, nutrition, herbal medicine, promotion of naturopathy treatment. In 1995, James Tombeur Holistic Naturopathy Health Centre was started.

DDP
Dalit Development Programme
Focus is to organize the unorganized SC/ST people living in small numbers at different villages. Based on their livelihood, they are organized in groups and supported to overcome problems in all aspects of life.

IFO
Inland Fisher-people Organization
Formed with the objective of organizing inland fisher-people into Sangams to prevent them from any type of enslavement and identify key problems affecting them. Works towards health, hygiene, education, livelihood and economic development.

Kolping
KIDSS Kolping
Aim is to help the poor live in freedom from hunger and lead a dignified human life by providing various income generation and welfare programs for group members.

RMP
Rural Motivation Programme
Target people are agrarian men and women. They are formed into Sangams and motivated to take up problems affecting the people and community at large.

SHG
Self Help Groups
KIDSS takes constant efforts in organizing rural men and women living below poverty line into Self Help Groups. We motivate them through awareness generation, capacity building training, small savings to develop economic sustainability.

WSCP
Women Self Confidence Programme
Formed to organize poor widows and abandoned women into groups to rebuild good family atmosphere with new hope. They are given awareness programs on self confidence, livelihood opportunities and skill development trainings.

CHDP - International Health Day
CHDP executive committee organized was April 29, 2026, health camp and seminar at Chunkankadai. In view of observing International day of health. Dr. Angelin Asha gave seminar on the importance of women's health. 41 participants consulted the doctor and had master health checkup.

KIDSS - Disability Programme
The Community-Based Disability Team was formed during the month of April 2026. The statistical data on persons with disabilities in Puthenkadai Vicariate has been collected. A total of 303 beneficiaries were recorded.

Vinnaithodu - Sustaining & Advancing Care Reform in India
Child Protection Plan training was conducted in 5 villages. Family-based care and gatekeeping training were provided in 7 parishes. Additionally, 133 KIDSS CBO members were trained on family strengthening and resource mobilization.
